Why We Believe Patients Deserve Better: The Case for Concierge Primary Care
At Connected Health, our passion for concierge medicine comes from a simple truth: patients deserve better. Too often, traditional primary care systems leave people waiting, frustrated, and underserved. A recent story shared with us highlights exactly why we are so committed to doing things differently.
Here’s what one family experienced with their loved one:
“My dad is sick and my mom is worried he has pneumonia. He called his PCP office and spoke to the receptionist, who said she’d talk to the doctor and someone would call him back. A few hours went by and he found out from the covering physician that his doctor is out of town until Thursday. The options she gave him were to: 1) book an appointment with his PCP on Thursday or 2) go to a walk-in today. He’s choosing to wait until Thursday because he thinks urgent care after the holiday weekend will be packed and filled with more germs. Just wanted to share because that’s why no one calls their PCP! And shouldn’t someone over 70, presenting with a bad cough and other pneumonia-like symptoms, be seen as semi-important? So upsetting to me!”
Stories like this are heartbreaking—and unfortunately, they are far too common. No one should have to wait days to be seen when they are sick, especially older adults or those at higher risk of complications. Families deserve peace of mind, knowing their loved ones can access care when it matters most.
This is why concierge primary care matters. At Connected Health, we make it a priority to:
- Set aside time for same-day or next-day visits when urgent concerns arise.
- Provide direct access to your care team so you’re not waiting hours—or days—for a call back.
- Offer personalized, proactive care designed to keep you healthier and out of urgent care centers.
We believe healthcare should never feel out of reach. Our model is built to restore trust, reduce worry, and put patients and families first.
Because when your dad is sick, when your mom is worried, when your family needs answers—you deserve better than “try again on Thursday.”
This is why we do what we do. This is why we’re passionate about concierge medicine.
