A Strong Foundation in Family Medicine
When Dr. Michael Duffy joined Connected Health, he brought more than just years of clinical experience—he brought a refreshing, patient-first approach to medicine that aligns perfectly with the Connected Health mission.
Dr. Duffy earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology before completing his medical degree in osteopathic medicine. He went on to complete a Family Medicine residency at Heritage Valley in Beaver, PA, and is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Passion for Prevention and Personalization
With nearly a decade of experience, Dr. Duffy has treated a wide range of chronic health conditions, but he’s especially passionate about diabetes management and preventative care. His interest lies in helping patients not only manage illness, but avoid it altogether—and he believes that starts with building strong, lasting relationships.
He values the time he gets to spend with each patient, allowing him to “listen to their concerns, understand their health goals,” and develop plans that are realistic and sustainable. “It’s rewarding to see how engaged patients are in their own care when they have that kind of support,” he adds.
A Better Model for Patients and Providers
Dr. Duffy joined Connected Health to escape the limitations of traditional healthcare systems, and he’s found the change both professionally and personally fulfilling.
He describes the transition to concierge medicine as smooth and says he’s “very happy with [his] decision to join the team.” One of the most meaningful changes, he explains, has been “the ability to provide care with the patient’s best interest first, no longer restricted by the red tape of insurance companies or denied treatments.” That kind of restriction, he admits, “was always frustrating.”
Now, he’s practicing in a model that allows for quicker, more direct communication with patients. He notes that they can expect timely responses, “typically within the hour”, from their care team, which he sees as a game-changer in patient trust and satisfaction.
Dr. Duffy also appreciates the supportive environment of the practice. “The office staff is fantastic,” he says, highlighting the collaboration between clinical and administrative teams that allows for smooth, efficient care.
Finding Joy in the Work Again!
This more sustainable approach to practicing medicine has made a big impact at home, too. With fewer administrative hurdles and a more manageable patient panel compared to traditional primary care, Dr. Duffy shares that his “quality of life has improved tremendously.” He’s spending more time with his family—and even his wife has noticed the change. “She said that I actually look happy leaving for work in the morning now.”
Outside the Office
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Duffy enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. He values the work-life balance that Connected Health allows him to maintain.
As he continues to build his Connected Health practice, Dr. Duffy wants new and prospective patients to feel confident in the care they’ll receive. At the end of the day, he says, “we’re here for them,” and their well-being will always be the priority—delivered with “compassion and kindness.”
Our driving passion at Connected Health is to empower and educate the community to play a leading role in their health with primary care as the foundation.
