Why We Don’t Offer Everything: A Look at How Connected Health Makes Decisions

In a world where you can order labs, medications, and supplements with a click, we ask a different question: has it actually been vetted? Here’s why Connected Health chooses not to offer everything—and how that protects our patients.

Why We Don’t Offer Everything: A Look at How Connected Health Makes Decisions

In today’s healthcare landscape, patients have more access than ever before.

With a few clicks, you can order lab tests, start new medications, subscribe to supplements, or even receive injectable therapies—all without ever stepping into a clinic.

At first glance, that convenience feels like progress.

But it raises an important question:

How do you know what’s actually been vetted?

At Connected Health, decisions about care are guided by our founder, Betty Rich, RPh, in close collaboration with our clinical team.

At Connected Health, we’ve made a deliberate decision:
We don’t offer everything. And that’s by design.

Every test, screening, supplement, and therapy we provide goes through a structured review process involving our clinical team—including physicians, pharmacists, and a licensed dietitian.

We look at:

  • Clinical evidence and outcomes
  • Safety profiles and potential interactions
  • Source quality and manufacturing standards
  • Whether it truly adds value for our patients

If something doesn't meet those standards, we simply don't offer it — no matter how popular it may be.

Not all healthcare options are created equal

Many direct-to-consumer platforms today make it easy to access treatments that were once only available through traditional care models. But with that accessibility comes variability.

Some products, particularly in areas like compounded medications, peptides, and certain supplements, can come from sources that aren’t always transparent to the end user.

“In many cases, patients have little visibility into where the product was manufactured, how it was handled or stored, and what quality controls were in place,” says Rich. “That doesn’t mean every product is unsafe, but it does mean the burden of evaluation often shifts to the patient, whether they realize it or not.”

Traceability matters—especially for what we put into our bodies

We’ve all become more thoughtful about where our food comes from, how it’s grown, sourced, and handled.

Healthcare should be no different.

If anything, the standard should be higher.

When it comes to medications, supplements, and especially anything injectable, traceability, consistency, and oversight matter deeply.

Our role is to do that work for you

At Connected Health, our goal is simple:

To ensure that anything we recommend or provide has been carefully evaluated by a clinical team that is accountable to you.

That means:

  • No chasing trends
  • No "shiny new" therapies without scrutiny
  • No shortcuts on sourcing or quality

Just thoughtful, evidence-based decisions made with your safety and long-term health in mind.

The bottom line

"At the end of the day, more access comes with its own challenges.  At Connected Health, you know if we recommend something, we have done the background work for you!" says Rich.
